The Emerald grotto near to Amalfi is a beautiful grotto that once you enter in a rowing boat, you are blown away by the green sea and its natural firework display. The effect is caused by the reflection of light on its stalactites and the jewel like sheen off the green water. Hidden for years “The Emerald Grotto” was discovered in 1932 and is now one of the most famous caves in Italy. The most unusual rock formation is of those stalagmites which emerge from the sea but also the stalactites from the ceiling which make them appear like a chandelier. It’s another world!
